I want to start off by saying that, I support all walks of life, the decisions and choices that are made by everyone.

With that being said , sexuality in general is being highly commercialized by today's society. Children are exposed to adult practices at a younger and younger age and at rapid rates due to images of what they may see on t.v as well as in lyrics they may hear in a song. Even in just reading a simple novel.

In the music industry sexuality has always been a topic for songs and performances. We all know that “sex sells” is a common saying in the broadcasting / entertainment world. In today's practices, sex is over stimulating the minds and the thoughts of our youth and young adults. What is happened to our young boys? It seems emasculating them has become a very popular trend. Fashion and music today promote our young men wearing blouses, dying their hair , wearing skinny jeans, body and facial piercings as if becoming feminine in some sort of way is the thing to do! Some may even wonder if they are doing this to stop the reproduction of the black male? Because if men believe that being with man is acceptable the reproduction of life will be impossible.

Now the new fascination with reality TV has opened up a lot of doors for the homosexual community. It has raised awareness with showing different aspects of the trials and tribulations that a gay person may face everyday. Some can only wonder why is this now a building trend?

What is going on with the world today where the industry are over exposing the homosexual life style in such a bold manner…are they truly being insensitive? why are they pushing this life style to the forefront all of a sudden when being openly gay has been around forever? is it for entertainment? is it for shock value? or is it actually just for ratings? Referring to Love and Hip Hop of Hollywood, where two gay guys come out to their family and friends for the first time, only later to find out it was a publicity stunt. In my opinion this is just sad and not at all being respectful of the obstacles that many gay people face and go through on a daily living this life style. This is not a joke people are teased, tormented and many have committed suicide behind this.

So ask yourself is the entertainment industry really helping or hindering the life of someone looking for support in this matter? Do exposing the details of homosexuality on TV or in music videos actually make being gay easier? Or is it just making a mockery of ones life style?
